The task: Efficient protection for dialysis products.

We were tasked with developing a tray that securely protected layers of 5 dialysers on a small footprint, offset in the axial direction and providing multi-layer protection until use. It was crucial to develop a solution that meets the specific requirements of the dialysis products and at the same time enables uniform sterilisation in gamma irradiation.

Our challenge was to develop a molded fiber tray that met the high standards of the dialysis industry:

Compliance with framework conditions for pallet-based gamma irradiation to sterilise the dialysers.
Securely fixation of the dialysers in multi-layer trays for maximum protection

Our solution

Our team of experts developed an innovative solution that optimises the transport and sterilisation of dialysis products. It comprises a very thin-walled molded fiber tray with concave and convex elements that securely fix the dialysers on the top layer and the lower layers in place. The products are kept stable and secure, without any sharp edges that could damage the bags.

The FineTec process is used to take the production of molded fiber products into a new dimension. It unites higher strength with optimised material reduction and, at the same time, makes it possible to securely fix products in place and keep precision components secure.
